Santamaría, Antonio

Mayor of Ferrol during the Second Republic. Exile.

In the early 1940s he passed through New York before settling in exile in Mexico. On February 18, 1940, the Frente Popular Antifascista Gallego in New York organized a festival in his honor at the Royal Windsor in that city. At the festival he recounted the adventures of his escape through France and after having gone through the horrors of the concentration camps.
